Home > Well Cap Information

Most well casings are covered by either a solid well cap or a well seal. The videos below will help you determine what approach will work best for your situation. If you've watched them and are still unsure what pieces you need to get our deep water pump into your well, send a picture of your cap or seal and your question to customersupport@freedomwaterpump.com before you order and we'll help you determine the best way to install the pump. If you have a removable cap or seal with no pipe attached to your electric pump, you also have the option of buying a well cap from this site with the hole already drilled to specifications.

If you will drill through a standard cap or order a predrilled one from our site, you won't need any additional parts. If you have a hole that is threaded for a 1", 1 & 1/8", or 1 & 1/4" hole, specify the modified bushing at checkout (no additional cost) and watch the well seal video below. Be sure to choose the correct size of bushing for your hole.

If you use the hole that is threaded for a 1", 1 & 1/8", or 1 & 1/4" pipe, specify the modified bushing at checkout (no additional cost). Be sure to choose the correct size of bushing for your hole. If you use the center hole or one drilled with a 1 & 3/8" hole saw, specify the expandable feed through at checkout (no additional cost).

Video: Concealed/Removable Install
We do not recommend this method because you have to remove your cap or seal to use the pump and it is not as stable during operation. However, if you choose to use this option, you must buy a chain and hanging plate separately at checkout.
